Sustanon is a form of the male hormone testosterone. It is characterized by its mix of 4 different testosterones which are: testosterone propionate, testosterone phenylpropionate, testosterone isocaproate and testosterone decanoate. This mix of testosterones creates a long lasting and balanced effect. It corrects the problem of the rest of the substances that create high fluctuations of testosterone in the bloodstream. Sustanon is the most commonly used substance in the medical field and in the athletic field. Sustanon has a half life of approximately 2-3 weeks. For uses in the medical field it is applied approximately every 15 days. In the athletic field athletes use it twice a week to elevate and maintain testosterone levels.
Sustanon is a modified form of the male hormone testosterone. It is made of 4 different esters of carboxylic acid- propionic acid, phenylpropionic acid, isocaproic acid and decanoic acid bound to the 17-beta hydroxyl group. These modified forms of testosterone are not as polarized as the free testosterone which generates slow absorption from the injection site. Once the sustanon is in the bloodstream the ester bonds are separated from the testosterone making it free and active. This type of esterified steroid is designed to prolong the effect of the steroid in the body, requiring less applications compared to other steroids that are not esterified. Sustanon has a half life of approximately 2-3 weeks.
All types of steroids have the ability to aromatize in the body due to the action of an enzyme called aromatase, this is also responsible for the conversion of testosterone to estrogen. Unlike other long lasting testosterones, hormone levels fluctuate less due to the mix of the 4 types of esters that create more stability and decreases the chance of side effects. Equally sustanon being testosterone, it aromatizes in the body making it essential to use antiestrogens. These type of products do not have hepatotoxic effects compared to oral substances. Like all androgen anabolic steroids, testosterone has the ability to reduce the production of endogenous testosterone. Prolonged use could cause hypogonadism which could cause an excessive loss of muscle mass and an imbalance of anabolic and catabolic hormones at the suspension of testosterone use. It is important to complete a proper post cycle therapy to to stimulate the production of endogenous testosterone to avoid losing all significant muscle mass in a short period of time.
Sustanon is a fine white solid powder, easy to compress, stable in normal environmental conditions and with a low melting point compared to other substances.
Sustanon is an oil base that is generally a very light yellow to transparent in colour. In high concentration sustanon does not crystallize within the vial. The viscosity according to the concentration is not high therefore 100 mg/ml and 275 mg/ml is used with a 20G and 21G needle without issue.
